FROM VINTAGE TO NEW 

From London and Milan, VKD Jewels has created a new jewellery line, inspired by the history and design of their vintage collection. 

Jewellery has always been a family affair for Aimée and Fleur van Kranendonk Duffels of VKD Jewels. ‘Our father Jan, set up his company Jan van Kranendonk Duffels in 1969 in the heart of Amsterdam. We grew up with the most exclusive jewels, both at home at the kitchen table, during our family travels and during the many international Antiques Fairs, including of course TEFAF Maastricht as the highlight,' say the sisters.

 

SPORTIVE AND CLASSIC

After working together in the family business for 25 years, Aimée and Fleur took over the business in 2013 and founded VKD Jewels. 'Our specialties are building collections for our international clients ranging from collectors to museum curators, finding unique pieces through our extensive knowledge and the connections we have made over the years; all from our deep passion for beautiful and special jewellery of the highest quality.' For two years now, Aimée and Fleur van Kranendonk Duffels have been working on their own jewellery line. Because they love to wear rings themselves and always have a large selection of vintage rings in their collection, it came natural to them to start their VKD Design collection with rings. Rings for them must have a classic and sporty look and must be comfortable to wear for every day use but even for a special occasion.

 

TRIBUTE TO CRAFTMANSHIP

As the sisters specialise mainly in vintage French, American and Italian signed jewellery, this provided the inspiration for a new line. The design of the Petalino ring is based on the dome shape of many French rings from the 50s and 60s, while Incisio is a tribute to the craftsmanship of Italian goldsmiths. The VKD Designcollection is custom-made for clients in Italy. Aimée and Fleur wish to expand the new VKD Design line in the future with earrings and necklaces, and hope in this way to be able to pass on their love and passion for contemporary and vintage jewellery to the younger generation. vkdjewels.com
